Cold weather forecast over weekend

A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Thursday, but cold weather conditions will prevail in most parts of the Kingdom, except for the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea where the weather is expected to be pleasant, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.

Chilly evening is expected with low-altitude clouds and westerly moderate winds, the JMD added.

Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach 13 degrees Celsius, 10 in the northern cities, dropping down at night to 6 and 4 degrees. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 21 degrees and lows standing at 11 at night, the JMD noted.

Mercury levels will drop few degrees on Friday, bringing cold and partly cloudy weather until Saturday with a chance of rain in various regions with westerly moderate to brisk winds, blowing dust in the Badia, the JMD forecast.
