Sunday, a member of the Board of Trustees at the National Center for Human Rights (NCHR), Ibrahim Al-Bdour, emphasized the urgency of vaccinating workers in light of the government’s move to reopen the sectors at the beginning of June.

By doing so, this will allow the worker and sectors to return to their usual activities all while preserving continuity by remaining open and not registering coronavirus cases which may lead to more closures in the future.

Bdour added that no protection from coronavirus infections has been proven until now except with inoculations, which has also been tried and tested in many countries, where they were able to effectively protect citizens while maintaining the permanence of sector operation.

He pointed out that the vaccination campaign should be accelerated at all levels in the Kingdom, both public and private, to include ministries and government institutions that citizens visit regularly, emphasizing that their cadres must be vaccinated.

As for private sectors, Bdour stated that employers must be called upon to vaccinate their cadres.

However, he noted that vaccinations must be prioritized in the public sector, with crowded institutions coming first, “such as hospitals, malls, factories … and so on.”

Bdour concluded that these measures are necessary in order to reopen Jordan’s sectors, to prevent the entry of a new wave of the coronavirus.
