Abbas lauds Palestinian-Jordanian ties

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas lauded as “deep-rooted” and “brotherly” the ties between the Palestine and Jordan and their peoples.

Abbas gave his remarks Wednesday evening as he received Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Tariq Hammouri in Ramallah.

President Abbas stressed the importance of coordinating joint positions between the Palestinian and Jordanian sides in all issues, pointing out to the need to increase trade exchange between the two countries and create all conditions for the development of cooperation and joint coordination.

In turn, Hammouri conveyed King Abdullah’s greetings to President Abbas and affirmed Jordan’s steadfast positions in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause at all levels.

Al-Hammouri underlined Jordan’s keenness to develop trade and economic cooperation with Palestine, pointing out to the 4th Jordanian Industries Exhibition, which began yesterday in the Palestinian city of Bethlehem and its importance in developing the trade cooperation between the two countries.

On the other hand, the minister and the accompanying delegation visited the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and was briefed on the Hashemite projects that are taking place there.

Al-Hamouri met with the Jerusalem Awqaf Director-General, Azzam al-Khatib, and the Awqaf employees was briefed on to the Al-Aqsa Mosque’s situation.
