Deputy Prime Minister meets Vice Chairman of CPPCC National Committee

Deputy Prime Minister Rajai Muasher affirmed the strategic partnership between Jordan and China, stressing the need to enhance cooperation between the two sides in various fields.
During a meeting on Sunday with Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Chen Xiaoguang, and the accompanying delegation, Muasher expressed Jordan’s appreciation of China’s support for Jordan at the political, economic and developmental levels.
He stressed the need to enhance economic relations between Jordan and China, mainly in the implementation of infrastructural projects including electricity, railways, and the Red Sea-Dead Sea Water Conveyance Project, noting that Jordan has signed free trade agreements with the United States, the European Union and many countries.
Muasher also outlined the regional developments, mainly in Iraq, Syria and the Palestinian issue.
On the regional situation, Muasher said that the Palestinian issue is the central cause in the region, highlighting the similarity of the positions of Jordan and China, which call for resolving the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution.
For his part, the Vice-Chairman of CPPCC National Committee said that Jordanian-Chinese relations have developed rapidly during the last four decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1977.
He also expressed his country’s appreciation of Jordan’s efforts to realize security and stability in the region, commending Jordan’s efforts in the fight against terrorism.
