– About 7 percent of students do not pursue their education through “Darsak”, a distance learning platform launched by the Ministry of Education to provide free access to educational content, while 62 percent of students take advantage of it, said minister Tayseer Nuaimi during Wednesday’s Lower House session.

In response to queries posed by deputies, the minister said that the platform is owned by the ministry; with a JD2,450-million donation from the “Mawdoo3” company to develop educational contents and provide technical support operations.

“Those assigned to upload the lessons on the platform are 1,500 distinguished public and private sector teachers, who were chosen according to specific criteria by a technical committee in the ministry” he added.
