JMD: Astronomical summer commences Wednesday, with moderate to hot weather

Summer season will commence astronomically on Wednesday, with a projected rise in temperature. Therefore, the weather will be moderate in the highlands and plains, while it will be relatively hot to hot in other regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Some low-altitude clouds are expected to form in the northern areas, and winds will be northwesterly moderate occasionally picking up, the JMD added.

No significant changes are expected in the next few days, and similar weather conditions are expected to prevail over the weekend.

In the central, northern, and southern highlands, the highs will range between 30C and 27C sliding at night to 19C or even 16C in the southern areas. In the port city of Aqaba, warmer weather will prevail with daytime temperatures standing at 38 degrees, while lows will drop to 25 at night.
