PM issues Defense Order No. 27

Prime Minister, Bisher Khasawneh issued Defense Order No. (27) for the year 2021 which was issued under the provisions of the Defense Law No. (13) of 1992, as follows:
Defense Order No. (27) for 2021 issued under the provisions of Defense Law No. (13) for 1992 to take the necessary measures and procedures to maintain public health. I decide to issue the following defense order:
First: Owners of means of transportation and / or drivers are obligated to follow the established safety and health precautions and measures to limit the spread of Coronavirus, including the following:
1- Ensure that users of means of transportation adhere to wearing masks and adhere to the established social distancing spaces.
2 – Disallow picking up total number of users of more than 50 percent of each means’ capacity.
Second: 1 – The driver of a means of transport in which he violates the provisions of Clause (First) of this defense order shall be punished by a fine of not less than JD50 and not exceeding JD100, and the penalty shall be imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months in case of the violation was recurrent.
2- The owner of the means of transport in which the provisions of Clause (First) of this defense order violations are committed shall be punished by a fine of not less than JD100 and not exceeding JD500.
Third: The provisions of this defense order shall take effect as of Saturday 3/13/2021 until Wednesday 3/31/2021.
Fourth: The Prime Minister may extend the provisions of this defense order or amend any of its provisions in light of the epidemiological situation, according to circulars he issues for this purpose.
