China coronavirus toll reaches 2,912

The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak in mainland China has climbed to 2,912 with 42 new deaths (all in Hubei province) over the last 24 hours, the Chinese National Health Commission (NHC) reported on Monday.

In a statement, the Commission announced it had received 80,026 reports of confirmed cases and 2,912 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland, noting that 2,837 patients were released from hospitals after being cured.
