Iran launched 15 ballistic missiles at two military bases used by U.S. forces in Iraq, in response to the killing of the Quds Force commander, Qassem Soleimani, by an American strike in Baghdad a few days ago. Iranian state news agency claimed at least 80 U.S. soldiers were killed, while 200 were injured in the attack. “Some 20 sensitive points of Al Assad military base were struck by 15 missiles, resulting in the destruction of a considerable number of drones and helicopters,” it added. A statement by the Pentagon confirmed the attacks on the U.S. facilities saying they are still evaluating the damage and their response.
