Police officer run over by speeding driver in Amman

A traffic police officer was involved in a hit and run accident in south Amman early Wednesday morning.

A security source told Roya that the officer signalled for a speeding car with tinted windows to pull over, however, the driver sped by the patrol car, running over one of the officers in the process.

The policeman is currently being treated for a broken foot in hospital.

Meanwhile, the culprit remains at large, while a police unit has begun an investigation into his whereabouts.
