EU deeply concerned about escalation in Palestinian territory

 The European Union (EU) expressed deep concern about the escalation in the occupied Palestinian territory, calling on Israel to respect its obligations under international agreements.

According to the German Press Agency (dpa), EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said in a statement late Tuesday ” the European Union is deeply concerned about the grave escalation in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory.”

“The European Union has repeatedly expressed its concerns about the increasingly high number of casualties of the violence this year,” Borrell added, emphasizing that the EU continues to stress that civilians, especially children, must be protected under all circumstances and in line with international humanitarian law.

Additionally, he called to strengthen the Palestinian Authority so that it can re-establish security control of all of Area (A) of the occupied Palestinian territory in accordance with the agreements in place.
