Tens of thousands of Israelis demonstrate against their government’s policies

 More than 100,000 Israelis demonstrated in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa tonight to protest their new far-right government policies.

In Tel Aviv, reports said some 70,000 people gathered at the city’s square to protest plans by the Israeli justice minister in the Benjamin Netanyahu government aimed at stripping the country’s Supreme Court of its powers.

In Jerusalem, several thousand demonstrated outside the residence of the Israeli president raising signs denouncing the Netanyahu government.

In Haifa in the north of Israel, demonstrates protested what they called a coup on democracy.
