Monday, Lebanon began implementing its fourth and final phase of easing closure measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus, despite the continuing high numbers of deaths and cases.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lebanon is currently in the midst of a dangerous economic downturn, which has seen the Lebanese Lira plummet to over 16,000 to the dollar. In 2019, the lira was 1,500 to the dollar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Restaurants, cafes, gyms and kindergartens will be able to operate until 8pm at 50 percent capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bars and nightclubs remain closed until further notice, and the ban on holding gatherings for social and religious events remains in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the eve of the start of the fourth round, the Lebanese Ministry of Health recorded 42 deaths and 2,968 new cases of Coronavirus during the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
