The death toll from the novel coronavirus climbed to 2,981, with 38 new deaths during the last 24 hours, the Chinese National Health Commission (NHC) reported on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the Commission announced it had received 80,270 reports of confirmed cases and 2,981 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland, while 49,856 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals.<\/p>\n
The World Health Organization (WHO), late Tuesday, announced the number of infected people of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) outside China exceeded 10 thousand, noting that 1,792 new cases of coronavirus were recorded over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infected people to 10,566 in 72 countries, while the death toll had risen by 37 to be 166.<\/p>\n
Scientists warned that the new virus may become “permanent” or “seasonal”, which means it will not disappear at all.<\/p>\n
