A slight rise in mercury levels is forecast on Wednesday, bringing relatively cold weather in most parts of the country and warm conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with southeasterly moderate to southwesterly winds, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.<\/p>\n
On Thursday night, clouds will start to build up at various altitudes with a chance of rain overnight in the northern and central parts of the Kingdom, while winds will be southwesterly moderate to brisk, blowing dust in the Badia areas, the JMD added.<\/p>\n
The Kingdom will be affected on Friday by a cold and wet air mass accompanied by a depression centered over Cyprus, pushing thermometers down and bringing chilly and cloudy conditions with rain that may turn heavy with hail, causing flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas.<\/p>\n
Snow showers are also expected in the late night hours over the highlands, while winds will be westerly with strong gusts, stirring dust in the Badia, the department further said.<\/p>\n
Daytime temperatures expected for today will reach 17 degrees Celsius in Amman, 12 in the northern cities and 13 in the southern governorates, dropping down at night to 7, 5 and 4 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 24 and lows standing at 11, the JMD added.<\/p>\n
