Shaheennews-<\/span><\/p>\n As part of its efforts to promote the social and economic well-being of Jordanian women and their families, the Jordan River Foundation (JRF) on Wednesday launched a project funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Amman, aiming at promoting gender equality through economic, social and protection services for women and girls.<\/span><\/p>\n The project, which targets Amman, Zarqa and Aqaba, aims to train and rehabilitate local women and their families to prevent abuse and violence and enhance their entrepreneurial capacities, thus contributing to building an economic and social development environment in the targeted areas.<\/span><\/p>\n The two-year project will continue in the framework of JAF programs to empower communities and protect the family and children, through the provision of a variety of training and empowerment programs in areas of employment, entrepreneurship, child protection and parental care.<\/span><\/p>\n The project also focuses on two main objectives: Enhancing the participation of women in the labor market to secure them sustainable livelihoods and empowering women and their families by improving their skills in violence prevention and family and child protection.<\/span><\/p>\n Director-General of the Jordan River Foundation Ina’am Albraishi said: “Our partnership with the Embassy of the Netherlands today and through this project will contribute to the strengthening of the foundation’s role in the empowerment of marginalized families and women through community and entrepreneurial empowerment…..”<\/span><\/p>\n “We seek to reach more than 500 families by empowering 2,400 beneficiaries in key training programs in employment skills, empowerment of women and youth, child rearing and protection, case management as well as psychosocial support services,” she said.<\/span><\/p>\n “Achieving social well-being by protecting women and children in marginalized communities is the cornerstone of any development project that seeks to promote social and economic stability,” said Dutch Ambassador in Amman Barbara Joziasse.<\/span><\/p>\n “This project, launched in partnership with the Jordan River Foundation, comes to further cement our strategic relationship with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
