The Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD), Hossam Abu Ali, has issued a call to all taxpayers bound by the electronic national billing system to issue their invoices exclusively through the digital platform.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In a statement released on Monday, Abu Ali emphasized that companies, professionals, service providers, and artisans already integrated into the electronic national billing system through their computerized systems, are now mandated to generate their invoices electronically.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Simultaneously, Abu Ali urged those who lack a computerized system to harness the power of the national electronic billing system by issuing their invoices via the electronic billing platform provided on the department’s website. This platform allows taxpayers without an existing computerized billing system to easily issue invoices.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The completion of the electronic national billing program will enable obligated taxpayers to issue invoices via this unified system. It aims to standardize the parameters of the tax invoice, regardless of whether it pertains to the sale of a commodity or the provision of a service.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The program mandates the department to issue and organize invoices as per the provisions of this system through the electronic national billing program or direct link, according to a pre-determined schedule. The new system eliminates the need for taxpayers to maintain physical copies of their invoices.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Abu Ali highlighted the system’s anticipated role in simplifying processes for taxpayers and reducing manual interventions. It offers a unified platform for generating invoices and diminishes the risks associated with traditional invoices, such as loss or damage.
