Fair weather forecast in highlands over weekend

Temperatures on Thursday are expected to rise 2-4 degrees above annual average, but fair weather conditions will prevail in the highlands and the plains, while it will be hot in other parts of the Kingdom, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
On Friday, a slight drop in mercury levels is forecast, but similar weather conditions will continue to persist with northwesterly moderate to active winds at times, the JMD added.
A further dip in temperatures is predicted on Saturday, so it will be moderate in the hilly areas and the plains, relatively hot in the Badia, and hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, the JMD noted.
The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom on Thursday will range between 28 and 32 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 18C or even 14C in the southern highlands. In the port city of Aqaba, it will be much hotter with mercury reaching a high of 42C and a low of 25C.
