The Amman Magistrates Court, on Thursday, held its 15th session on the Salt hospital case, where seven people died due to a lack of oxygen.

In a public session, the court, chaired by Judge Odai Freihat, heard new prosecution witnesses; two nurses who work at the hospital’s intermediate care department for COVID-19 patients. They testified that there were no significant problems that occurred during their shift on March 12th, a day before the accident, and until the morning staff began their shift.

There were 24 patients in their department at the time of the incident, the two witnesses told the court, and three supervising nurses.

The court, so far, heard 26 witnesses, while the total number of prosecution witnesses is expected to reach 49 in the case.

Last March, the Public Prosecution opened an investigation into an oxygen supply outage at the Salt government hospital, prompting the arrest of 13 officials at the Ministry of Health.
