Japanese PM congratulates Jordan on centennial anniversary

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, on Monday, congratulated His Majesty King Abdullah II on the Centenary Anniversary of the founding of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which falls on April 11.
In a video message, Suga said that, since the Kingdom’s was founded, Japan and Jordan have maintained strong ties at all levels, including the traditional friendship between the Jordanian royal family and the Japanese imperial family, noting that the two countries share key values such as the rule of law.
Jordan is an important strategic partner for Japan in the Middle East, he added, stressing that the two countries cooperate in various fields, including addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the economy, Suga pointed out that an investment agreement between the two countries entered into force last year, boosting bilateral relations.
