UNRWA begins COVID-19 vaccination in Irbid, Zarqa

the New Irbid Health Center and Zarqa Camp Health Center of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in Jordan began Monday administering COVID-19 vaccines to more than 570 people including 300 in Irbid and 270 in Zarqa.
The UNRWA medical team and a team from the Jordanian Ministry of Health worked together to provide the vaccine.
The step is an example of the continuous cooperation between the Jordanian government and UNRWA, to provide the necessary services to Palestinian refugees and others during the pandemic.
The Director of UNRWA Affairs in Jordan, Marta Lorenzo, said: “Here we are today completing the launch of the vaccination program in two clinics affiliated with the Agency, in cooperation with the Jordanian government through the Ministry of Health, in order to ensure the delivery of the vaccine to the largest number of people in Jordan. The Jordanian government maintains its continuous cooperation with the Agency to continue providing the necessary services to Palestine refugees.”
March 9, the main health center in Baqaa, which is affiliated to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), began operating as a COVID-19 vaccination site.
