A slight rise in mercury levels is forecast on Sunday, becoming 3-4 degrees above their seasonal average, so it will be fair in the highlands and plains, and warm in other parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
On Monday, a further rise of temperatures is expected, reaching 6-7 degrees above annual average, and bringing moderate conditions in most regions, except in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba where it will be warm, with clouds at various altitudes and westerly moderate to brisk winds, blowing dust in the Badia areas, the JMD added.
As we head into Tuesday, the Kingdom will be affected by a wet and a relatively cold air mass, as mercury will significantly dip, making relatively cold weather in the hilly areas and plains, while it will be warmer in other parts of the country with low clouds and westerly moderate to active winds, the JMD predicted.
Temperatures in Amman today will reach a high of 21C, dropping to 11C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a high of 29C, dipping to 19C during night hours.
