Border Guard foil infiltration attempt from Syria

 Northern Military Zone troops Monday arrested a man who tried to cross the frontier from Syria and found weapons and quantities of drugs in the area.

A reliable source at the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army Command said that troops applied the rules of engagement, adding that a search of the area led to the seizure of a Kalashnikov rifle, 76 rounds of ammunition and a hand grenade, as well as 42 bags of hashish and 13 drug pills.

It said that the man and the weapons and narcotics were referred to the competent security authorities, vowing to deal with full force with any infiltration or smuggling attempt to protect the Kingdom and the security of its borders.
