Jordan on Thursday will be affected by unstable weather conditions, pushing temperatures down and bringing cold and partly cloudy weather with scattered showers, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
Rainfall is expected to be heavier with thunder storms and hail at times, causing flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, including the Dead Sea and Aqaba, the JMD added, noting that winds will be southeasterly moderate to active, blowing dust in the desert.
The weather department warned of slippery roads in the areas experiencing rain, flood formation, risk of thunder storms, poor visibility due to dust in the desert, and of high sea waves in the Gulf city of Aqaba.
On Friday, the Kingdom will stay affected by the unstable weather, as cold conditions and cloudy skies will remain countywide with heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at times, the forecasters expected, pointing that winds will be northwesterly moderate to active.
On Saturday, mercury levels will rise few degrees, but cold and partly cloudy weather will continue to persist with light showers in some regions, and patchy fog in the highlands and the Badia areas, while winds will be northwesterly moderate, the JMD further said.
Temperatures in Amman today will be 14 degrees Celsius, dropping to 6C during night hours, meanwhile the city of Aqaba will see a high of 22C, sliding into 14C at night.
