Jordan records first two cases of new COVID variant: MoH

A Jordanian and his wife, who have recently arrived from the United Kingdom, have tested positive for the new variant (B117) of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), Minister of Health Natheer Obeidat announced Sunday.
Obeidat told Petra that the two cases were discovered after tracking down and testing of recent arrivals from the UK. He added that the couple came from the UK on December 19th and said they are now in “excellent” health status.
According to the minister, the couple is now in home isolation as epidemiological teams continue to track down contacts.
