Unstable weather with spotty showers forecast for two days

Alshaheen News

Temperatures are forecast to drop on Sunday, bringing moderate autumn-like conditions nationwide, and clouds at various altitudes, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily report.

In the afternoon, the Kingdom will be gradually affected by unstable weather conditions, which will bring scattered showers in different parts of the country. The rainfall is expected to turn heavy accompanied by thunder and hail at times, while winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, the JMD said.

The department warned of poor visibility due to fog formation and dust, mainly in the highlands and the Badia areas, as well as slippery roads and floods in valleys and low-lying areas.

“The country on Monday will continue to be affected by the weather instability, with further drop in mercury levels, accumulative clouds and spotty showers in various regions,” the department added, noting that rain may also turn heavy with thunder storms and hail at times, along with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD predicted.

On Tuesday, the weather will be fair with the appearance of clouds at different altitudes and scattered rain in various areas, the JMD noted.

Daytime temperatures expected for today will reach 28 degrees Celsius in Amman, 24 in the northern cities and 25 in the southern highlands, dropping down at night to 17, 15 and 13C respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 31 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 21 degrees at night.
