COVID-19 infections in UK passes one million

More than 21,900 COVID-19 cases were recorded in the UK on Saturday as the caseload tops 1,011,660, according to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).

A total of 326 people succumbed to the lung disease within the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to at least 46,550, the DHSC added.
