Food watchdog seizes 200kg of defrosted, spoiled meat

Alshaheen News

Food control teams seized and disposed of about 200 kilograms of frozen meat defrosted to be sold as fresh in Amman, in addition to an unspecified amount of meat found not valid for human consumption.

The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) said on Wednesday its teams shut down three butcher shops and ordered three others to close temporarily in central Amman after they were found in violation of food safety guidelines.

The administration said it will not tolerate or allow any violations to hygiene and food safety protocols and urged consumers to come forward and report any observations or complaints.
