Rise in temps forecast over weekend

The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) forecast that temperatures on Thursday will rise few degrees above their annual average, but fair weather will prevail in the highlands and plains, while it will be relatively hot in other regions.

Clouds are also expected to appear at various altitudes with southeasterly moderate winds, the JMD said.

A slight rise in mercury levels is predicted on Friday and Saturday, but similar weather conditions will persist, with southeasterly moderate to brisk winds, blowing dust in the Badia areas, the JMD added.

Temperatures in Amman will hover around 30C degrees during daytime, dropping to 18C degrees at night, while the mercury levels in the port city of Aqaba will range between a high of 37C, and a low of 22C, showed the JMD report.
