The National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) on Wednesday announced exceptions to the 48-hour full lockdown, which begins on Friday, during which only authorized persons are allowed movement.

Exceptions included travelers and those coming from abroad with only one companion are allowed movement to transport the passenger, stressing that they must present a copy of their travel ticket. Also, exceptions cover those being released from hospitals and the Dead Sea quarantine area, by displaying their discharge papers.

All medical personnel working in the public and private sectors are also exempted from the lockdown, the center added, underlining that the health sector must work with the minimum number of personnel to maintain the workflow. On the sector’s administrative personnel, they must carry an official letter or identification card.

Employees of security and protection companies are allowed to move on Saturday, October 17, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m for the purposes of company registration, provided that the employee holds a company identification card and a sealed statement approved by the company.

Furthermore, the center said that dialysis and cancer patients are also excluded from the decision, stating that they must carry cards and check-up dates, while individual permits are granted for emergency cases through communication with each governorate’s operating rooms by the administrative governors.

On citizens traveling to countries that require a PCR test, the center pointed out that the test must be conducted during the two days of the lockdown, indicating that the traveler must request an accredited laboratory, which has a movement permit, to conduct the test at home to collect the swab and give the result electronically.

Pet stores owners are allowed to move from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday to attend to the pets, provided that they carry a license from the municipality and the Ministry of Agriculture.

All persons who stay overnight at their place of work are also excluded, provided that they do not leave for any reason whatsoever and until the end of the lockdown.
