Jordan’s trade deficit with EU countries down 18.6pct

Jordan’s trade balance deficit with countries of the European Union (EU) stood at JD1.2 billion, decreasing during the first seven months of this year by 18.6 percent, compared to JD1.5 billion during the same period of 2019.
A Department of Statistics (DoS) report showed Thursday that the value of national exports to EU countries until the end of July, stood at JD88 million compared to JD88.3 million at the same period of last year.
The value of imports from the EU countries also dropped to reach JD1,3 billion, compared to JD1.6 billion during the same comparison period.
It is noteworthy that Jordan’s trade balance deficit decreased by 24.4 percent during the first seven-month of 2020
