Scorching weather to persist for remainder of week

The weather continues to be hot and dry on Monday as temperatures soar over 40C degrees in most areas of the Kingdom, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

In the afternoon, clouds will build up at different altitudes bringing a slight chance for scattered showers in the southern region, while winds will be northeasterly to northwesterly moderate.

The heat wave impacting the Kingdom will bring scorching weather for the remainder of the week, the weather department added. Therefore, similar hot conditions are expected to prevail on Tuesday and Wednesday, with high-altitude clouds and northwesterly winds.

Mercury in Amman today hovers around a sweltering 42C degrees, falling to 25C during night hours, while the Dead Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba will see a scorching 43C, 45C respectively, sliding to 28C, 30C, in a row, during night time.
