Normal summer conditions are expected to prevail on Tuesday over the highlands and the plains, as mercury levels record few degrees below their seasonal average, while it will be relatively hot in other parts of the Kingdom, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

A slight rise in temperatures is forecast on Wednesday, bringing hot conditions in many areas of the country, except in the mountainous and the plains where fair weather will persist, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD added.

On Thursday, the Kingdom is expected to bake in a blazing heat wave that will push mercury levels 4-5 degrees beyond their seasonal average. The Jordan valley, the Dead Sea and the port city of Aqaba are set to swelter in scorching weather, the Department predicted.

Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach a high of 30 degrees Celsius and a low of 20, while it will hit 27 degrees in the northern cities, dipping to 15. Highs in Aqaba will reach 39 degrees, while lows will stand at 25 at night.
