Relatively cold weather is forecast in most parts of the country, except for the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea where it is expected to be fair, with clouds at various altitudes and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, blowing dust at times in the Badia.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), the Kingdom will be affected by weather instability in the evening, bringing partly cloudy skies with scattered rain in the southern region that may turn heavy, accompanied by thunder and hail during night, and causing floods in valleys and low-lying areas, including Aqaba. Winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, stirring dust in the southern and eastern cities.

On Tuesday, the country will remain under the impact of the instability, pushing thermometers down with cloudy conditions and downpours in most regions, including the southern city of Aqaba. Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and hail is also expected at times in some areas, making flash floods in valleys, lowlands and water-accumulation areas, the JMD said.

Chances of rainfall are forecast to gradually decrease in the late night hours, and winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, blowing dust in the southern and eastern areas, the Department predicted.

Cold and cloudy weather conditions will continue to prevail on Wednesday, with drizzles in the northern and central parts of the country, the JMD added.

The highs today will reach 15 degrees Celsius in Amman, 12 in the northern region and 13 in the southern highlands, sliding down to 7, 5 and 3 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 23 degrees dropping down to 11 at night, the JMD added.
