shaheennews

Extremely cold weather conditions are forecast nationwide today, with cloudy to partly cloudy skies and freezing rain at times, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said on its daily brief.

The chance will also remain for light and intermittent showers of snow over highlands and some parts of the eastern Badia, while winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, the JMD added.

At night, even colder weather will stick around with clouds at low altitudes and a chance for light snow over the southern highlands. The snow fall will gradually weaken in the northern and central parts of the kingdom, while frost will be formed in many areas.

Mercury levels are expected to slightly rise on Tuesday and Wednesday, but chilly weather will dominate in most regions, with clouds at different altitudes and a chance for light rainfall in the northern and central parts.

Daytime temperatures expected for today will reach a high of 4 degrees Celsius in Amman, 1 in the northern cities and hover around 1 in southern regions, dropping down to -1, -2 and -3 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 16 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 6, the JMD explained.
