Pakistan to rejoin US military training
shaheennews
The United States announced Tuesday it is allowing Pakistan to rejoin a military training program, following a two-year suspension when President Donald Trump froze the U.S. military assistance.
According to Washington Post, the decision reflects an easing of previously tense relations between the two countries, after Trump accused Islamabad of not doing enough to stop terrorism.
“The US administration has approved the resumption of the International Military Education and Training (IMET) program for Pakistan as one such exception, subject to congressional approval,” the US State Department spokesperson said.
