Interior minister, German ambassador discuss cooperation

Interior Minister Salameh Hammad on Monday discussed with German Ambassador to Jordan, Birgitta Maria Siefker-Eberle, means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and security fields.
Hammad said the relations between the two friendly countries are based on mutual respect, thanks to the support of the two countries’ leaderships, especially in the security areas that are the ground for achieving progress and prosperity.
He made a briefing on the challenges Jordan is going through, most of which are caused by the regional instability, and its impact on the overall economic and security conditions in the Kingdom.
“Jordan has received several waves of forced migrants from Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Libya and Syria, which led to negative repercussions that affected most of the vital and service sectors,” he added, commending the wise Hashemite leadership that believes in providing humanitarian aid to those who need it.
The minister expressed appreciation for the German support to Jordan in the humanitarian, security and development fields, pointing out the importance of holding on the support to help the Kingdom deal with the repercussions of the refugee crises.
The envoy stressed the need to open wider fields of cooperation between the two countries, as well as to exchange experiences and rehabilitation and training programs.
