Relatively warm weather forecast Tuesday, drop in temps Wednesday

A tangible rise in temperatures is expected on Tuesday, bringing relatively warm weather conditions nationwide with medium and high altitude clouds, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

The department said in its daily brief that cold weather will prevail at night in most parts of the country, while it will be moderate in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea with south easterly moderate to brisk winds.

Daytime temperatures expected for today will reach 24 degrees Celsius in Amman and the northern governorates, dropping down at night to 12. The weather will be warmer in the southern port city of Aqaba with highs jumping to 32 degrees and lows sliding to 18, the JMD added.

Mercury levels will drop few degrees on Wednesday, creating partly cloudy conditions with a chance for scattered showers in the northern regions and parts of the eastern and southern areas. Winds will be south westerly to westerly brisk, blowing dust at times in the badia, the JMD added.

A further drop in temperatures is expected on Thursday. Therefore, it will be moderate with clouds at various altitudes and a chance for light showers in the early morning hours, mainly in the northern parts of the Kingdom, the JMD noted.
