UN expresses concern over violence in Idlib

The United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen voiced deep concern over the escalation of violence in Idlib.

In a briefing to the Security Council on Friday, Pedersen said at least 10 civilians were killed and 50 others, including children, were injured, after reports of a missile strike on a camp for displaced persons near a maternity hospital two days ago.

He said there are 3 million civilians in Idlib, many of whom have fled from fighting elsewhere in Syria, according to UN News.
