Trump’s public impeachment hearings start next week

The U.S. Congress on Wednesday announced impeachment hearings will begin next week as Democrats prepare to take their case against President Donald Trump to the public.

According to Washington Post, House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff said that three witnesses will testify next week: US diplomat Bill Taylor and State Department official George Kent will appear on next Wednesday, and former US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch is testifying next Friday.

“Public hearings will show the degree to which the president enlisted whole departments of government in the illicit aim of trying to get Ukraine to dig up dirt on a political opponent,” Schiff added, noting that the open hearings will be an opportunity for the American people to evaluate the witnesses for themselves and make their own determinations about the credibility.
