Temperatures to drop for two days, warm up again Tuesday

A slight drop in temperatures is expected Sunday, bringing relatively cold weather in the highlands and pleasant conditions in the rest of the country, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
Clouds at different altitudes with a chance for local showers are also forecast across the country that might be accompanied by thunder, while winds will be westerly moderate picking up at times.
Daytime temperatures forecast for today in Amman, the northern and the southern cities will hover around 17 degrees Celsius dropping down at night to 5, 6 and 4 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 25 degrees and lows standing at 13, the JMD said.
On Monday, cold and relatively cloudy conditions are expected to prevail due to a tangible drop in temperatures, with rain fall in the northern and central regions accompanied by thunder and hail. Winds will be westerly brisk stirring dust in many parts of the country, it added.
Temperatures are expected to warm up again on Tuesday, but the weather will stay relatively cold in mountain areas and pleasant in other parts of the country, the JMD added further.
