CARE, MEII sign agreement to support SMEs
Shaheennews –
CARE International in Jordan and the Middle East Investment Initiative (MEII) signed a memorandum of cooperation to support and develop small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through providing accounting services for the entrepreneurial women in the Kingdom.
The agreement aims at coordinating cooperation between the organization and the MEII to serve the beneficiaries in the organization’s areas of operation in the Kingdom, provide technical support services in the analysis of financial statements and obtain the best financing offers, thus woman beneficiaries can understand the financial performance of their projects and increase profitability.
CARE International was established in Jordan in 1948 and provided food and non-food items to displaced Palestinian refugees. Since then, it has continued to respond to humanitarian crises and to provide assistance to refugees from Iraq, Somalia, Sudan and Syria, as well as the Urban Refugee Protection Program, the Azraq Camp Program and the Sustainable Development Program.
CARE International in Jordan leads the humanitarian protection, economic empowerment and civic participation of women and girls from marginalized and poor communities to overcome poverty, gender-based violence and social injustice, and to promote accountability, leadership and political will internally and with partners to achieve this mission.
The Middle East Investment Initiative is a non-profit organization operating in the Middle East and North Africa that provides technical and financial assistance programs to stimulate sustainable economic activity and create long-term employment, believing that a sound economic base is the only path to social and political stability.
