Gov’t okays services for homes built on treasury land
Shaheennews –
The cabinet has approved procedures to provide services to residential buildings that were built on treasury land before Sept. 16, 2018, in the various governorates and regions of the Kingdom within specific terms and criteria.
“The Council of Ministers had agreed to go ahead with the provision of basic services to homes built on treasury land before the date of 16 Sept., 2018, at prices that take into consideration the citizens’ incomes, and that can be paid on installments within proper periods of time”, said Director General of the Department of Land and Survey, Mo’in Al Sayegh.
He said that the cabinet decision was meant to address the issue of utility services for these buildings, especially in densely populated areas, correct their legal status and set effective mechanisms to stop assaults on treasury land.
The decision provides for the removal of all assaults that took place after 16 Sept., 2018 and introduction of strict procedures to prevent the recurrence of such violations, while mandating local administrators across the Kingdom to enforce the relevant legal measures.
