Shaheennews –
The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) and the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop the trade and industrial relations between the two countries.
The MoU, signed by the ACC President, Issa Murad and Chairman of the SMF, Douglas Foo, aims at exchanging trade information, and providing assistance in trade and investment fields.
The MoU, which was signed on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Jordanian Embassy in Singapore, aims to provide advice and assistance to members of the two economic bodies, as well as to spurring the exchange of joint training programs.
During the ceremony, Murad stressed the need to benefit from the free trade agreement signed between Jordan and Singapore, which came into effect in 2005, to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two friendly countries and promote investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
He called for intensifying the exchange of mutual trade visits to highlight the economic opportunities available in the two countries.
The kingdom’s exports to Singapore last year amounted to JD2 million, compared to JD18 million in imports.
