NMC Royal Medical Centre to Host Walkathon to Combat Diabetes

In an effort to raise awareness about diabetes, NMC Royal Medical Centre, Ras Al Khaimah in association with Ras Al Khaimah Police and the Ras Al Khaimah Public Services Department to organise a walkathon on November 9th, 2018 for World Diabetes Day.
NMC Royal Medical Centre, Ras Al Khaimah aim to raise awareness about this serious medical condition. The walkathon will also offer tips to combat and manage diabetes.
People from across the UAE will take part in the walkathon, as will institutes and organisations including the Emirates Clinic RAK, Emirates Home Rehab, Higher Colleges of Technology, RAK Medical University, the American University of Ras Al Khaimah and RAK Academy.
The walkathon is an effort to ensure that people are informed about the causes, symptoms and prevention of diabetes and to raise awareness about the importance of early diagnosis.
The International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization (WHO) created World Diabetes Day in 1991 in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes. This year, the theme is ‘Diabetes concerns every family’.
