King meets Palestinian refugee camps’ figures, dignitaries

His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday met with representatives and dignitaries of Palestinian refugee camps within the context of His Majesty’s meetings with the various segments of the society.
During the meeting at the Royal Hashemite Court (RHC), His Majesty said he was for the meeting, adding: “I welcome you at the home of all Jordanians. I am proud to be among my brothers and family today.”
The meeting tackled local and regional issues, including the Palestinian cause. The King stressed that the Palestinian cause is Jordan’s top priority adding that the Kingdom’s stance is unwavering.
“Our stance is well-known. It will not change and it is an honor and an obligation,” the King said.
On local matters, His Majesty said: “We recognize the challenges facing Jordanians regarding the economic situation, poverty, and unemployment, which requires a program that creates job opportunities, attracts investments to different parts of the Kingdom, and develops the infrastructure.”
The King pointed to the importance of cooperation between all state institutions in reducing challenges facing refugee camps. He directed the concerned officials at RHC to visit all camps to review their needs and the obstacles they are facing.
The representatives expressed their pride in His Majesty’s leadership and his efforts to support the Palestinian people in obtaining its legitimate rights.
They also lauded Jordan’s historic and religious role in defending Muslim and Christian holy places under the Hashemite Custodianship.
