Unearthed Graeco-Roman statues unveiled in Jerash

On Wednesday, a public ceremony sponsored by the representative of tourism and archeology , the secretary general Essa Qamwa ,and the French ambassador Mr. Daived Bertolotti to showcase the statues which were discovered in the Roman bathing complex in the center of the modern city of Gerasa / Jerash. The number of status have been restored during 2018 by the French archaeological team which headed by the archeologist Thomas Weper
Restoration and mosaic expert Franco chorelli ensure that the heritage discoveries in Jerash is important and valuable specially the marbled Roman statues. It was formed from Greek marble with various kinds of marble. He explained that during 2018 ,he restored Aphrodite, zeus, a marble head and muzes. As he indicated , the zues was the hardest to restored . zeuse status broken to 40 pieces and it took 40 days to restore
