Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi on Wednesday received Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, who paid a short visit to the Kingdom coming from Ramallah where he met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The two ministers reviewed the latest developments related to the Palestinian cause. The Omani top diplomat briefed Safadi on Oman’s moves in this context, including the talks Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held with Omani officials in Muscat and the Omani minister’s meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Both ministers underlined the importance of exerting further efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on pre-June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Safadi warned of the continued absence of prospects for justice for the brotherly Palestinian people. He emphasized the importance of fulfilling the rights of the Palestinian people, particularly their right to freedom and statehood.
