3.5 magnitude earthquake recorded near Dhiban, Madaba

The Jordan Seismological Observatory early Monday reported a seismic event measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was centered in the northeastern vicinity of Dhiban, a city located within the Madaba Governorate.

According to the observatory’s data, the tremor was registered precisely at 3:09 AM local time, at a depth of approximately 7 kilometers beneath the Earth’s surface.

The event is categorized as a minor earthquake, falling within the lower range of seismic intensity. Consequently, its effects were likely perceivable only by individuals residing in proximity to the epicenter.
