Hot conditions expected across Jordan

shahennews

The summer sun is turning up the heat across Jordan on Monday, with temperatures expected to soar to hot levels in most regions, while the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will witness even more intense heat. Accompanying the heat, moderate northwesterly winds will intermittently sweep through the landscape.

The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) issued a serious caution to the public, as direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours can be hazardous.

On Tuesday, most areas will experience typical summer warmth. However, the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will remain in the grip of the scorching weather. The northwesterly winds will provide some relief, blowing gently at times.

As we move into Wednesday, the temperatures will intensify, enveloping the majority of the country in relatively hot conditions, while the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will continue to bear the brunt of the heat.

Thursday’s forecast brings with it a slight but noticeable rise in temperatures, surpassing the usual seasonal averages. The mountainous regions and plains will be relatively hot, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will experience exceptionally high temperatures.

Today’s peak temperatures will be between 34 and 32 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 22 or even 20 degrees in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 42C and lows of 28C.
